You have the choice to get involved in any of the subjects we cover or just stay as a guard whereby you do not need any signals training. We now have our own Enigma Machine and other expensive or rare items that need guarding especially at field-based events. 

Although the building we are in is open to the public every day we normally only man the unit on a Saturday and Sunday although it is not a requirement for everyone to be there. During Bletchley Park outside events we nearly always set up an outside display tent which always goes down well with the public.

We are now invited to many shows through the year including the two biggest military events being Beltring War and Peace Show and The Military Oddyssey both in Kent. We attend most of the Railway Weekends and several smaller shows. Normally members turn out for these events because they want to.

We are now accepted as the Signals Unit for several of the top named German Re-enactment Groups in this country and attend their events even being invited to join in on the battlefield during the re-enactments.

The cost to you is your kit which obviously remains yours as do any artifacts if you were to put anything on display. We know where to buy any item you need and tend to stick to the same manufacturers so that we all have the same looking uniforms.

These days we never get any negative attitude from the public and even the veterans joke with us now. This is backed up by our comments book which goes back almost 10 years.
