The SA80 Bayonet

This has been totally neglected topic by me in the past but now I have looked into the subject in greater detail I have been suprised by the number of changes and differences that have been shown to me by the experts. There are much more qualified people on this subject around that I have met and I shall ask one of them to take over this section or allow me to publish their findings.

Heres a taster of whats to come.

Left to right ...

1. Early bayonet with a bottle opener cast into the handle.

2. 1985 dated bayonet with longer and fuller blade.

3. 1986 dated casting. Standard issue.

4. First of the parallel rope cutter grooved bayonets of the old casting method.

5. First of the new castings cast through the top of the handle.

6. Latest bayonet cast through the handle.
