Kit Related to the SA80

All SA80 related kit.

Silencer.

A silencer made for the SA80 that replaces the flash hider. But this would be a permanent fixture as it would involve removing the flash hider pin and breaking the threadlock added when the flash hider was originally placed on gun. The MOD requirement was for a removable silencer that did not involve removal of the flash hider. Only very few made so if you ever see one and have the right licence, get it.

Surefire equipped SA80 photos here soon.

The Vortex flash hider not only does what I told you in the Evolution section but also has a groove cut in it for a Direct Connect silencer. as shown on the above photo.

Rail Converters.

An after market double length picatinny rail which fits onto the original SA80 unique SUSAT rail and allows a sight and an accessory like a 3 X converter etc to be added. A favorite configuration is a red dot sight and a magnifier. My best configuration is an ACOG TA31 ECOS and the MUM 14 night sight.

Blank Attachments.

A1 blank attachment.

Stamping says : MCM 91

Stamping is an "n" with a line under it.

A2 LSW Blank firing attachment. The bulb at the end is hollow and is supposed to be able to catch 3 bullets fired by accident. Leave me out of the trials for this.

Cleaning Kits.

An original cleaning kit.

We put together our own cleaning kits.

3 different kits.

4 different dust caps of varying textures and colours.

A Cadet GP dust cap next to a regular SA80 one.

New operational cleaning kit.

Scotchbrite.

The multi-tool which does most ajustment jobs on the SA80 and SUSAT.

The bottom tool has HSS on it so did start life as a high speed steel drill piece.

Tool opened.

The chamber and bore brushes. The top one is the old chamber brush which will bend if any great force is used. The second brush from the top is the new reinforced chamber brush. The third brush is the new bore brush which has a steel twist instead of the brass one on the lower brush which would just bend.

The old T handle cleaning rod. The notch halfway along the bars acommodates the small spanner cutout on the multi-tool for tightening.

The new rod with no moving parts. Note : Only the handle is different.

3 different brushes.

A cleaning kit accessories not originally in the early cleaning kits. Top one is just a piece of foam on a lolly stick. It has been used for the LSW extention holes, chamber, inside of the top receiver even in the lower receiver so a general allrounder. The second toothbrush is general purpose but is good at removing carbon deposits. Another brush looking like a shaving brush is general purpose probably introduced because of sand and the bottom brush is for the gas plug hole.

The recently issued pullthrough. It has a thread on the end so you can add a section of cleaning rod as extra weight.

Single oil dropper.

An early double oil bottle.

Recent double oil bottle.

A jag that I am not sure made it to the issuing stage.

Slings.

The original sling where the black paint used to wear off the metal loop and the brass underneath used to then shine brightly.

A black sling of the same NSN possibly used by the MOD Police.
