The Global Market was originally created for those people who still have a small amount of stock or a collection but cannot afford to keep premises open or start their own website, too old to do a car boot sale, not computer literate etc. Payment and contact is centralized so there is a volunteer always on duty to distribute payments / organize postage or delivery etc. It has grown into a "something for everyone" group of virtual shops you can look around without leaving home.
